Cut it Out: Empire Takes a Stand Against Domestic Violence

My first two posts for Beauty's SPOT revealed my belief that the spa is a unique location in the life of every woman. Indeed the term spa is short for 'Salud Per Aqua,' meaning 'health through water'. It is a place for rejuvenation, reprieve, and even healing. Besides all of the fun we have here at the SPOT, I also like to allow for opporuntites where we can help the day spa create powerful change in the lives of women. Upon hearing about the new Cut it Out campaign, I knew this would possibly be the most important post Beauty's SPOT has ever done.

Empire, the nation’s largest system of corporate owned cosmetology schools, is putting it's money where it's mouth is. As part of their new Cut it Out campaign, Empire will provide no charge services to women housed at shelters near their 87 schools located across the U.S. and that is just the beginning.

Empire schools will also work with the US Attorney’s Office to adopt a local domestic violence support organization within proximity to each Empire school. In addition to free services, clients seeking support from each “Adopted” domestic violence support organization will also become eligible to receive financial assistance to attend any Empire Beauty School in the country. Quantitatively this educational aid could reach up to half-million dollars per year.

Beauty, empowering women, recreating women. This is what it's all about girls. Use this link to find an Empire supported program near you and make sure to support them on October 11 when all of the profits from each of the 87 student salons will be donated to a local shelter in the community where the school is located. Visit Cut it Out for more information.
